Help
Help is In Time PRO Web's in-app support hub — a place to browse topic cards, search for answers, and contact support without leaving the application. This page organizes that same content in a few extra ways (by role, by task, and as troubleshooting) to help you find an answer faster, and points you to the full documentation for anything that needs more than a quick answer.
Overview
What it is: A searchable collection of help topics, plus a way to email support directly.
Why you use it: When you're not sure how something works, or something isn't behaving the way you expect, Help is the fastest place to check before asking a colleague or your administrator.
Who can access it: Everyone who is signed in, including Client users. This is different from Settings and Download, which are hidden for Client users — see Application Header & Global Controls.
Two different "Help" entry points
In Time PRO Web has two separate things both called "Help," and it's worth knowing the difference before you go looking for something:
| Entry point | Where | What it offers |
|---|---|---|
| This Help hub (this page) | Main sidebar → Help | Topic cards, searchable Q&A, and a Submit Ticket option |
| Header Help menu | Question-mark icon in the top bar | Only a Submit Ticket option — see Application Header & Global Controls → Help |
If you just need to email support, either one gets you there. If you want to browse topics or search for an answer first, use the sidebar Help hub described on this page.
How to access
- Open Help from the main sidebar.
- Browse the topic cards, or use the search box to find a specific question.
- Open a topic to read its Q&A.
- If your question isn't answered, choose Submit Ticket.
- Close Help to return to the Dashboard.
Browse by module
The Help hub includes topic cards for these product areas. Each card gives you a short, in-app answer — for full step-by-step instructions, fields, and validations, use the linked documentation page instead.
| Topic card | Full documentation |
|---|---|
| My Profile | My Profile |
| Clients | Clients |
| Projects | Projects |
| Leaves | Leaves |
| Activities | Activities |
| Time Tracking | Time Tracking |
| Timesheet | Timesheet |
| Company Profile | Company Profile |
| Organization Unit | Organization Unit |
| Products and Services | Products & Services |
| Manage Users | Manage Users |
| App Productivity | App Productivity |
| Download Agent App | Download |
Download Agent App (the in-app topic name) specifically covers how to download the Desktop Application and what it can track — apps, screenshots, blur, mouse, location, private time, and idle/offline behavior. For the features that depend on the Desktop Application once it's running, see Activities and the Capture Settings that control what it captures.
Common tasks, by role
If you're new to In Time PRO, start with the task that matches what you're trying to do:
| If you are... | Start here |
|---|---|
| A brand-new user, any role | Getting Started — what to expect after your first sign-in |
| An Admin setting up the company | Global Settings — Company Profile, Manage Users, Organization Unit, and the rest of company setup |
| An Admin or Manager creating a project | Projects — how to create a project, assign a team, and configure approvals |
| An Admin managing who can do what | Administration → Roles — how roles and permissions work |
| An Employee or Contractor logging work | Time Tracking (day-to-day task time) and Timesheet (formal, submitted hours) |
| A Manager reviewing team timesheets | Timesheet → Approvals |
| A Manager or Admin reviewing attendance/productivity | Activities |
| An Admin or Manager generating a report | Reports |
| A Client | Authentication → Client Sign In and Client Portal |
Frequently asked questions
Where do I even start? Read Getting Started first, then Overview for the full picture of how the product's areas connect.
Why do I see different menu items than a colleague? What you see depends on your role and the permissions your administrator has granted, plus which features your company's plan includes. See Administration → Roles for how this works.
Why is a menu item or button I expect to see missing? Most commonly, it's one of: your role doesn't have that permission, your company's plan doesn't include that feature, or (for a few areas, like exports) you personally have that option hidden in your account settings. Ask your administrator to check your role's permissions if you believe you should have access.
How do I create a project? See Projects → How to Create a Project. You'll need a client set up first (for client-billed work) — see Clients.
How do I get assigned to a project, or add someone to one? Project assignment is done by an Admin, Project Manager, or Program Manager — see Projects → Project Team. If you expect to see a project and don't, check with your administrator or manager.
What's the difference between Time Tracking and Timesheet? Time Tracking is where you do day-to-day task work and run a timer; Timesheet is where that time is formalized, described, and submitted for approval. See Time Tracking → Time Tracking and Timesheet.
How do I request time off? Open Leaves → My Leaves and submit a request. It's routed to the approver configured on your project (or your reporting manager) for review. Your leave usage for the year also appears as a read-only summary on your Dashboard.
How do I download and use the Desktop Application? See Download and Getting Started. Signing in on the web does not sign you into the Desktop Application — it needs its own separate sign-in.
Why don't I see any screenshots or live monitoring for someone? This depends on permissions (see Activities → Permissions) and whether that person's desktop agent is installed, signed in, and actively capturing that kind of data.
Why is a report card (like Leave Report) visible but not usable? A small number of areas are shown in the product as a preview of what's planned but aren't usable yet. See Reports → Leave Report and the note on Overview → Key Concepts to Know.
FAQ doesn't cover my case — now what? Use Submit Ticket, described below.
Troubleshooting
| Situation | What to check first |
|---|---|
| Can't sign in | See Authentication → Common Sign-In Messages |
| A whole module is missing from your menu | Your role's permissions, or your company's plan — ask your administrator |
| A project is missing from your Timesheet or Time Tracking | Confirm you've been added as a team member on that project — see Timesheet → Project Assignment and Timesheet |
| A Timesheet entry won't submit | Check the Timesheet validation rules — a common cause is a missing description or a future date |
| A screenshot, live view, or attendance record looks empty | The person's desktop agent may not be installed, signed in, or currently running |
| A button or tab you expect is missing | Check the specific module's "who can access" section — most modules explain exactly which permission controls that button |
| Something looks broken and none of the above explains it | Use Submit Ticket below |
Submit a support ticket
If a topic or FAQ doesn't answer your question, use Submit Ticket. This opens your device's default email application with a new message already addressed to In Time PRO support — it does not open an in-app ticket form. See Submit Ticket for what to include in your message.
