Time Tracking
Use Time Tracking to work on assigned tasks, start and stop timers, enter manual time, use your calendar, and manage team tasks.
Overview
Time Tracking is where you capture time against project tasks in the browser. Tracked time can later appear in your timesheet for review and submission.
| Tab | Purpose |
|---|---|
| My Tasks | Your assigned tasks, filters, Start / Stop / Complete, and status |
| My Calendar | Calendar views, Outlook connect, and calendar-linked timer actions |
| Team Tasks | Team task list with edit, delete, import, and export when available |
| Add Task | Create a new task |
Away time belongs under Leaves. Live team monitoring belongs under Activities.
The desktop agent can open Time Tracking and launch Add Task automatically. See Help and Desktop.
How to access
Main Menu → Time Tracking
My Tasks is the usual landing tab. Switch to My Calendar, Team Tasks, or Add Task as needed.
Users with access to this feature can open it from the main menu. If Time Tracking is missing, ask your administrator to review your access.
What you can do
My Tasks
- Filter by project and task, search, and sort newest or oldest first
- Review tasks by state groups such as New, In progress, Overdue, and Completed
- Select a task and Start or Stop tracking
- Mark a task Complete
- Set your status while working: Busy, Idle, Online, Offline, or Private Time
- Open task history, comments, and attachments
Only one task timer can run at a time. If you start another task, you are asked to confirm so the current timer can stop first.
Private Time is hidden when your company has disabled it in tracking settings.
Manual time entry
From the task edit panel you can add or update manual time for a task. Manual entries must:
- Not overlap existing task history
- Not land on a day that already has a submitted timesheet
- Fall within your project start and end dates
My Calendar
- Review calendar views of your work
- Connect Outlook when that option is available
- Start or stop timers from calendar context where offered
If Outlook connect fails, you may be taken toward the Dashboard with an unable-to-connect message.
Team Tasks
When you have access, you can:
- Review the team task grid
- Edit or delete tasks
- Import or export tasks
- Open Add Task to create work for the team
Add Task
Create a task with Project, Task Name, Assign To, Task State, Work Item Type, Activity, Original Estimate, Billability, and Comment. You can also add optional details such as priority, severity, repro steps, system information, and attachments.
